NFL WEEK 16

GREG COTE’S THURSDAY NIGHT PICK

SAINTS (7-7) at RAMS (7-7)

Line: LAR by 4.

Cote’s pick: LAR, 23-16.

TV: 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Prime Video.

N’Awlins has won two in a row and L.A. four of its past five to lift both into NFC playoff contention, Saints with a shot at the South division crown, Rams thinking wild card -- and the loser’s hopes taking a massive hit to kick off Week 16. Matthew Stafford has been really good lately (12-1 on TDs/picks in past four games), but Saints have tough pass defense. So I’m riding the matchup of Rams hot RB Kyren Williams vs. a Fleur de Lis run-D allowing 4.5 yards per carry. L.A. has covered six straight at home, though Saints with the points tempts especially if they get WR Chris Olave (ankle) back from injury as they hope. Also anticipating the bottom side of a 46 1/2 over/under.
