What about that "bomb cyclone?"

The bizarre Pacific storm was forecast to drop up to a foot of tropical rain and winds comparable to a Category 3 hurricane on the drought-struck West Coast, propelled by a low-pressure zone pushing deep inland. Widespread power outages were reported Sunday evening into Monday, including more than 40,000 homes and businesses in the Seattle metro area.

But conditions — for now — are typical of the Pacific Northwest: light but sustained rain, southerly winds around 15 miles per hour, and cooler temperatures forecast to reach 53 degrees Fahrenheit by kickoff.

It’s nothing that Sean Payton’s team hasn’t seen before. They’ve been taking precautions in practice like working with wet footballs and they should be ready to play in a hostile environment. Let’s get it.
