NH man killed after crashing motorcycle in Amesbury

Authorities are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred early Friday morning.

Amesbury Police say Benjamin Laverty, 21, of South Hampton, New Hampshire, was riding his motorcycle in the area of Elm Street around 1:16 a.m. For reasons unknown, the motorcycle crashed and Laverty was found unresponsive in the roadway, according to officials.

Fire responders performed CPR on him but Laverty succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Amesbury Police and Massachusetts Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
