NHL-Highlights of Saturday's NHL games

Jan 31 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Saturday's National Hockey League games: - - - Senators 7, Coyotes 2 The Senators scored a 7-2 win in the first NHL game in more than 30 years featuring two sets of brothers, as Ottawa wingers Mark Stone and Milan Michalek faced off against a Coyotes team that included defenseman Michael Stone and Zbynek Michalek. Three of the four factored in the scoring, as second-period goals by Milan Michalek and Mark Stone broke a 1-1 tie and put the Senators ahead to stay. The last time two sets of brothers shared the same ice surface was Dec. 23, 1983, when Wayne Babych and Joe Mullen (St. Louis) played against Dave Babych and Brian Mullen (Winnipeg). - - - Lightning 3, Blue Jackets 1 Goaltender Ben Bishop had 34 saves to lift Tampa Bay over Columbus. Right winger Brett Connolly scored his ninth goal of the season and centers Cedric Paquette and Valtteri Filppula had third-period goals as the Lightning set a franchise record with their 10th consecutive win at home. Tampa Bay remain on top of the Eastern Conference standings with 68 points, one point ahead of the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens. - - - Rangers 4, Hurricanes 1 Left winger Rick Nash scored his 29th goal of the season as the New York Rangers snapped a two-game slide. Nash is tied for the league lead in goals with Washington Capitals right winger Alex Ovechkin and Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin. - - - Flyers 1, Leafs 0 Philadelphia defenseman Michael Del Zotto scored barely four minutes into the game and Flyers goaltender Steve Mason made 30 saves as Philadelphia held on to win its season-high fourth game in a row. Toronto goaltender James Reimer turned in a solid effort, keeping the game close by stopping 18 of 19 shots, but it was not enough as Toronto's record dropped to 1-11-1 in their last 13 games. The shutout loss was the fourth time the Maple Leafs failed to score in a game in January. - - - Stars 5, Jets 2 Defenseman John Klingberg had two goals and two assists to pace Dallas past Winnipeg. Four of the Stars' goals came on the power play as the penalty-prone Jets were short-handed eight times. Klingberg scored his eighth and ninth goals of the year in the third period. - - - Devils 3, Panthers 1 Jaromir Jagr and Mike Cammalleri, placed on the same line for the first time this season, each scored a first-period goal and rookie goaltender Keith Kinkaid stopped 26 shots as New Jersey topped Florida. The Devils won for the fifth time in their last seven games and improved to 5-1-2 in their last eight games at home. - - - Bruins 3, Kings 1 Left winger Chris Kelly tipped a shot by Carl Soderberg past goaltender Jonathan Quick with 5:24 left for the winner. That goal came just 96 seconds after the Kings had tied the game on a goal by center Jordan Nolan. Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask stopped 30 shots but was beaten by a rather strange shot by center Tyler Toffoli that hit the top corner of the net. - - - Red Wings 4, Islanders 1 The Red Wings got goals from four players and Petr Mrazek made 21 saves as Detroit won for the seventh time in eight games, beating the New York Islanders. Left winger Tomas Tatar, defensemen Brendan Smith and Jonathan Ericsson and right winger Gustav Nyquist scored for Detroit. - - - Canadiens 1, Capitals 0 (OT) Left winger Max Pacioretty's goal at 3:08 of overtime earned Montreal its first home win against Washington since Feb. 10, 2010 -- ending a stretch of seven losses. It was the fifth straight win overall for Montreal and the fifth straight road loss for Washington. (Editing By Cameron French)
