The Anaheim Ducks announced on Wednesday that Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin are currently out of action after being diagnosed with the mumps. And on Thursday the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Minnesota Wild defensemen Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella are both ill and are exhibiting the swollen glands and other symptoms that Perry and Beauchemin displayed. - - Forward Alexander Khokhlachev was recalled by the Boston Bruins on an emergency basis from the Providence Bruins. Khokhlachev joined the team in Montreal and was eligible for Thursday's game against the Canadiens. - - The St. Louis Blues activated forward T.J. Oshie from injured reserve and assigned forward Dmitrij Jaskin to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Oshie, 27, missed the past seven games. In eight games this season, he has one assist and seven penalty minutes. - - Colorado Avalanche right wing Daniel Briere returned to the lineup after sitting the past seven games as a healthy scratch. - - New York Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle returned to action Thursday after being out with a broken hand. Defenseman Michael Kostka was a healthy scratch as a result. - - Winnipeg Jets right wing Chris Thorburn missed his first game of the season, replaced in the lineup by Matt Halischuk. - - Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brett Bellemore missed his second game in a row with an upper-body injury.
