NHL-National Hockey League roundup

Nov 27 (The Sports Xchange) - The NHL's disciplinary wing didn't take the day off on Thanksgiving. The league suspended Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt two games without pay for kneeing Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall, and Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry was suspended for one game without pay for boarding Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta. - - Nashville Predators center Mike Fisher, who underwent surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon in July, was activated from the injured list. Fisher, 34, was expected to be in the Predators' lineup for the NHL's lone Thanksgiving game, against the Edmonton Oilers. - - A finger injury will sideline Vancouver forward Zack Kassian for a few weeks, Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said. Kassian was injured during Tuesday night's game against the New Jersey Devils when he was slashed. - - The Florida Panthers recalled goaltender Dan Ellis from San Antonio of the American Hockey League and placed right winger Scottie Upshall on injured reserve Thursday. Ellis was summoned after Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo left Wednesday night's 1-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in the second period with an upper-body injury. - - The Philadelphia Flyers placed forward Jason Akeson on waivers. Akeson had no points and six penalty minutes in 12 games this season, but he hadn't played for two weeks. - - Calgary Flames forward Devin Setoguchi cleared waivers and was sent to Adirondack of the American Hockey League. The Flames had waived Setoguchi a day earlier. He has played 12 games for Calgary this season after signing as free agent on Aug. 23. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
