Niagara Lawn & Garden wins two national awards

Oct. 13—There are 4,200 dealers of Cub Cadet lawn equipment in the country, but the best of them may be in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Lawn and Garden Equipment on Saunders Settlement Road received two national awards at the UN1FY dealer summit in San Antonio last month. The awards were for the 2023 Region 1 Retailer of the Year and the 2023 overall Top Service Parts Retailer of the Year for Cub Cadet equipment.

Owner Michael Richards accepted the award with staff and family members going with him. An employee since 1996 and running it the past 19 years, Niagara Lawn & Garden sold over 500 lawnmowers over the past year, well up from the six when his father took control of the business.

"This is like we're in the Super Bowl of lawn and garden," Richards said. "There's no other award higher than that."

Niagara Lawn & Garden has sold Cub Cadet brand lawnmowers since 1989. No other Cub Cadet dealer in the Western New York region has won these before, with the closest Region 1 Retailer winner located in Batavia.

The main thing that goes into these awards is selling lawnmowers and providing the service and parts for those mowers.

Richards is already planning on winning the Top Service Parts Retailer again next year, something that has not been done before.

"If we repeat, we'll probably get the number one of the whole country," Richards said.
