Dating Rumors
After they grabbed dinner with friends back in October, the rumor mill began to speculate that pop stars Niall Horan and Selena Gomez were dating. However, during an interview on Australia's Hit 90.9's Brekkie Crew podcast, Horan shut down those rumors completely.
"Do I have a girlfriend? I don't, no. I'm very much single. Very much single."
According to Horan, he is focusing on his music for the time being.
"I'm focusing on the job at the minute, but it's not like you really ever go out of the way to properly look for [love]. if it comes to you, it comes to you, and if something falls in your way or you meet someone or whatever, then fair enough. And then, yea, just kind of see what happens."
The Assumptions Are Frustrating
Horan, who has been linked to Ellie Goulding and Hailee Steinfeld, also expressed his frustration over being accused of dating every woman he comes in contact with, even if the relationship is just platonic.
"That's the most annoying part. Try and be friends with a female. It doesn't make a difference. If I'm seeing someone, if they're just a friend of mine, [people think] I'm going out with them. That's the most annoying part, isn't it really? I can't even be friends with a female."
Not The First Time They've Been Linked
This isn't the first time that Gomez and Horan have been linked. They were spending a lot of time in 2015, when they were seen getting close at Jenna Dewan's 35th birthday party. A source told US Weekly that they "were seen kissing in the middle of [a] club, in front of everyone."
Gomez also posted about Horan's music on her Instagram, encouraging her followers to download the 'Slow Hands' singer's single.
Selena On Being Single
Selena Gomez recently gave an interview on The Zach Sang Show, where she opened up about being single for the last two years.
"I’ve been super, super single for two years. I’ve been having way too much fun being on my own. It sucked for the first year, I was like, ‘I just want to cuddle. I just want to watch something and be adored.’ But now it feels good, it feels awesome."
"I think girls can sometimes be scared of that, because we’re viewed as crazy or needy or overthinking things or dramatic. I understand sometimes, but I love being a girl and I love having the emotions I have, falling super deep and being passionate. It’s just about containing it and channeling it in the right areas."
