Nice weather likely in Western MD, Southcentral PA on Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday should be good weather-wise in the Washington County and Franklin County, Pa., area, according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service.

And while there might be some sprinkles, Black Friday should be pretty good, too.

Kevin Witt, meteorologist at National Weather Service office in Sterling, Va., said that Thursday will be dry, with a chance of rainfall in the southwest late that night into Friday morning. The wind will be picking up out of the northwest on Thursday but expected to diminish that evening

The chance of light rain on Black Friday is 30%, he said.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-50s, and the low-40s in the mountains on Friday.

What's the weather supposed to be like in Chambersburg and Waynesboro?

Steve Travis, a meteorologist at the weather service's office in State College, Pa., said Thanksgiving Day in Franklin County will start out in the lower 30s with partly cloudy skies.

The rest of the day should be mostly sunny, with highs in the low- to mid-50s. Thursday night into Friday will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the lower 30s.

Expect Black Friday to be a little drizzly, with a 30% chance of rainfall in the afternoon, and high temperatures in the upper 40s.
