Nicholas Krueger named Fowlerville Junior High Assistant Principal

FOWLERVILLE — About a month after Jeffrey Finney switched roles from Fowlerville Junior High School Assistant Principal to the Fowlerville Athletic Director, Nicholas Krueger has been named his successor.

Krueger, who started in the assistant principal role on Sept. 25, was officially given the job Tuesday, Oct. 3, when the Fowlerville Board of Education voted unanimously to hire him.

"I've had a great, short time so far in the building, meeting all the staff and students," Krueger said during the meeting.

According to FJHS Principal Myriah Lillie, there were 15 applicants for the position and four were given interviews.

"The committee felt confident in his ability to serve as the next Junior High Assistant Principal," Lillie wrote of Krueger in a letter to the board. "The team appreciated his knowledge and work ethic, as well as his middle school experience, when he was selected."

Krueger received his bachelor's degree from Siena Heights University and master's degree in school administration from Eastern Michigan University. He was a science and engineering teacher for 16 years at Owosso High School, later becoming the career and technical education director for Lakewood Middle School.

"It's really been a eye-opening experience with all of the initiatives the junior high has," Krueger said.

Krueger said students engaging with him and asking questions has already made a huge impact.

"I'm looking forward to coming back every day to school and really getting to meet all the people in the community," he said.
