Nicholas Milano will replace Michael Denney as Milton town administrator

MILTON – Nicholas Milano will  be the new town administrator starting Sept. 6.

At its meeting last week, the select board approved an employment contract with Milano that select board Chair Arthur Doyle said calls for  an annual salary of $182,000  and possible performance bonuses.

Doyle said Milano has already signed the contract.

Milano was appointed by a unanimous vote of the board July 29. He has been the assistant town administrator in Medfield for nearly three years. Before that, he was an executive aide to the mayor of Marlboro. He has also worked as project coordinator for the state School Building Authority and as an aide in the Legislature.

He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and a master's in urban affairs from Boston University.

The vacancy was created when former Town Administrator Michael Dennehy left in February to take a job in the private sector.

Former Town Administrator Annmarie Fagan has been the interim administrator since Dennehy left.

In other business, the board announced that Oct. 12 is the deadline for submitting articles for the Dec. 5 special town meeting warrant.
