Nichols runs winning streak to 20 straight as Bison head to NCAA Division 3 Elite Eight

Jakigh Dottin poured in 26 of his 34 points in the second half as the Nichols men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 20 with an 86-68 victory Friday over Stockton (New Jersey) in a NCAA Division 3 Tournament third round matchup to advance to the Elite Eight at Swarthmore (Pa.) College.

The Bison (26-5), a national quarterfinalist for the second time, moved on to play seventh-ranked Swarthmore (27-3), an 82-58 winner over Keene State, on Saturday.

Keene State is coached by former WPI standout and assistant coach Ryan Cain, and former Assabet Valley star Jeff Hunter had 12 points for the Owls.

Nichols led throughout the first half, by as many as 11 points and 39-32 at halftime.

Tavon Jones and Quincy Ferebee each had nine points, and Matthew Alectus (7 points, 2 blocks) collected 10 rebounds as Stockton shot under 30% for the half.

Stockton rallied just after intermission to take a brief lead, before Dottin caught fire. He netted 15 points in the first 11 minutes of the half as the Bison took a 69-55 lead.

Jones finished with 16 points, Ferebee with 15 and Alectus with nine points and 15 boards. DJ Campbell led the Ospreys (24-6) with 25 points.
