Nick Cordero left out of Emmys ‘In Memoriam’ segment

His battle with coronavirus and tragic death gripped New York City and beyond, but it appears Hollywood forgot about Broadway standout Nick Cordero on Sunday night.

The actor was not included in the “In Memoriam” segment of the Emmy Awards, during which industry figures who died within the past year are honored.

Cordero died at age 41 in July following a fight with COVID-19 that led to numerous health complications.

In addition to his Broadway career, Cordero appeared on TV shows including “Blue Bloods” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

One Twitter user named Christa Mariner wrote she was “Disappointed at the #Emmys” for leaving out Cordero, while another with the username Kate A. wrote his omission was “NOT COOL.”

Others who were not part of the Emmys memorial segment included Kelly Preston, who died in July following a two-year battle with breast cancer, and “Kojak” and “Knots Landing” actor Kevin Dobson, who died Sept. 6.
