'The Voice' Coach Blake Shelton Lied to Everyone About Nick Jonas

From Country Living

Before The Voice even aired its finale in December, we found out big news about the reality show: Nick Jonas is joining as a coach for season 18!

That’s right, the NBC show announced who will be signing on for the spring 2020 round, and the Jonas Brothers singer has officially been tapped as the latest pro to sit in a big red chair. But the addition of Nick to the Voice family means that another major change is coming—and we already know one coach who isn't too happy about it.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming season of The Voice (including who Nick is replacing).

Who are the coaches?

Nick Jonas will join coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton for season 18. The Voice rookie is officially replacing Gwen Stefani, who gave up her red chair to focus on her residency in Las Vegas. This update was revealed during the season 17 Blind Auditions when Nick shared a video explaining the latest addition to his resume—and made it clear that he’s ready to take on his more experienced competition.

"While I’m excited to work with you guys, I’m coming for you,” he said. “It’s going to be a fun time."

Kelly and John are more than ready to welcome their next celeb co-worker, though for Blake that sadly means he’ll have to say goodbye to his girlfriend.

Blake previously claimed that he's going to "bully" Nick, but we found evidence that suggests he might have been lying to everyone about his relationship (or lack thereof) with the new coach.

John said it best: You've got some explaining to do, Blake!

Who are the mentors?

This year's Mega Mentor has not yet been announced, but the other mentors are equally impressive.

Nick will have more hands on deck than the rest of the coaches, as he chose his brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas to be his advisors. Still, he's up against some tough competition: Ella Mai will join Team Legend, Dua Lipa is working with Team Kelly, and Bebe Rexha will lend her talents to Team Blake.

When does "The Voice" premiere?

The Voice will return to television at 8:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 24.

Good luck to all of the contestants and coaches! (Especially Nick—he's going to need it.)
