Nida's Thai on High has announced it will close its Short North location, at 976 N. High St. The restaurant's last day will be Dec. 17.

The restaurant said the difficulty of maintaining quality food and staffing led to the decision.

"It is extremely difficult to call it quits, but Thai food is not easy to make and make well," read the Facebook post. "Given the challenges, especially at a time when staffing is awfully hard to maintain, the moment has arrived for this chapter in our lives to end.

"We do not want to fall short of what our guests deserve and have come to expect by being unable to live up to our vision."

Owners Nida and Chris Perry opened Nida's Thai on High in 2008 following the success of their stall at the North Market, which opened in 2001. Nida's will remain at the market, the restaurant said.

Nida's joins a number of Short North establishments to close this year, including DeVine Tastings, Bar 23, Melt and Two Truths.
