Nigeria Frees Detained Activist, Former Security Adviser

Nigeria ordered the release of political activist Omoyele Sowore and Sambo Dasuki, a former national security adviser, two high-profile detainees for which President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration has come under international pressure for perceived rights abuses.

Justice Minister and Attorney-General Abubakar Malami ordered the release of both men on Tuesday, Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s social media aide, said on Twitter.
