The Night Agent confirms season 2 filming has begun

Netflix has confirmed that filming has begun for the second season of The Night Agent.

The series follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent who is thrown into a huge conspiracy as he seeks to discover the identity of a mole at the highest level of government.

Following the success of the first season, Netflix swiftly ordered another instalment, and the streaming service has now confirmed that filming has begun.

“The Night Agent is back in production for season 2!” wrote the company on Instagram, accompanying a photo of Basso holding a clapperboard.

“The last week has been a whirlwind as we've finally been able to share The Night Agent with the world,” said creator Shawn Ryan upon the show’s renewal last year.

“To see the tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers, our directors, our crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix.”

“We couldn't be any prouder or more excited to get cracking on season two to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans,” he added.

The cast for the second season will also include some new faces, with Brittany Snow joining the roster in a recurring role as Peter’s mentor. The star, who has previously appeared in Pitch Perfect, said of her casting: “I already love this cast & crew. Fun agent things ahead.”

Joining Snow as new members are Berto Colon, Louis Herthum, Arienne Mandi, Amanda Warren and Teddy Sears, whilst Luciane Buchanan will reprise her role as Rose Larkin alongside Basso.

The Night Agent season one is on Netflix; no release date for season 2 has been confirmed yet.
