Night Footage Shows Lava Flowing From La Palma Volcano as 6,800 People Displaced

The Cumbre Vieja volcano on Spain’s La Palma continued to spew lava on October 13, as the number of people displaced by the eruption reached 6,8000, according to El Pais.

This footage, posted to Twitter, shows lava glowing bright orange as it flows down the volcano.

Authorities said on Wednesday that the island was “geologically stable” and that 92 percent of La Palma was unaffected.

More than 640 hectares of land have been impacted by the eruption, according to the island’s governing body. Credit: idafe.com via Storyful
