Seth Meyers, comedian and host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” will be the guest speaker at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend, running Friday through Sunday, Oct. 14 to 16.

Meyers will speak at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 in Gordon Field House. Tickets for the general public ($50) are available through RITtickets.com or at the University Arenas box office. Meyers began his television career in 2001 on “Saturday Night Live,” where he was a cast member for 13 years. He served as head writer for nine seasons and “Weekend Update” segment anchor for eight.

In 2014, he took over as host of NBC’s “Late Night” program, originated by David Letterman. The show won back-to-back Critics Choice Awards in 2020-21 and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Talk Show Series this year.

In 2019, Meyers released his debut standup special, “Lobby Baby,” on Netflix, which was Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

This past May, Rochester-based singer/songwriter Danielle Ponder made her national TV debut performance on “Late Night.” Rochester-based touring act Joywave also has been featured on the show.

And in late 2019, Meyers shared the story of an octogenarian from Rochester who fought off a would-be burglar with a table, broom and shampoo, helping the story of champion weightlifter Willie Murphy to go viral.
