A Night to Shine: Hundreds celebrate prom event in Wooster and other Ohio cities

WOOSTER − With roughly 230 guests from Wayne, Ashland and other counties and more than 300 volunteers, the city celebrated the seventh year of Night to Shine at Grace Church Friday evening.

Sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, this prom night is focused on people 14 and older living with a disability.

The red carpet event provided guests with dinner, desserts, music, karaoke, dancing, photos and a crowning ceremony, said Samira Zimmerly, a member of the Wayne County Night to Shine planning committee.

Wooster's Grace Church was one of nearly 655 churches around the world celebrating Night to Shine.

According to the Tim Tebow Foundation website, the event also was taking place in nearby communities, including Ashland, Canton, Munroe Falls and Millersburg.
