A massive air alarm was sounded in Kyiv and several other oblasts at around 2:30 am, while the western oblasts heard the alarm at around 5 a.m.

The Khmelnytskyi Oblast State Administration (OVA) reported on Telegram that critical infrastructure had been hit. According to Khmelnytskyi Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn’s Telegram, one district of Khmelnytskyi Oblast is on fire due to the attack. Educational and medical institutions, administrative buildings, industrial facilities, multi-story buildings, and private homes were damaged by the explosions. Five people were initially reported injured during the night attack, but that number increased to at least 11 people at time of publication.

Symchyshyn added that firefighters are still extinguishing the fire at a critical target that was hit by the Russians, which will continue for several more hours.

During the air alarm, residents of Khmelnytskyi heard about ten explosions, according to national broadcaster Suspilne. Symchyshyn warned that the explosions may be heard even after the alarm is lifted, which was announced at around 7 am.

Explosions were also heard in Lviv Oblast during the night, though authorities have said that those explosions were a result of air defense. Meanwhile, Kyiv’s OVA reported on Telegram that there was a threat of an attack by kamikaze drones, but that air defense had successfully destroyed all enemy drones moving towards Kyiv.

However, the State Emergency Service reported that a residential building in Kyiv Oblast was damaged due to drone fragments – likely the result of a successful interception.

The enemy also attacked Mykolaiv Oblast by launching several Shahed drones.
