Nike Released a Pair of Swarovski-Covered Air Max 97 Shoes

All you need to sparkle is $400!

If you ask me, 2018 just might go down as the year of the decked out sneaker. From Selena Gomez’s dress and Puma sneaker combo to Chiara Ferragni’s glitzy collab with Converse, our faves have turned the athleisure staple into an amazingly versatile trend.

Who better to take notice of the burgeoning sneaker-chic movement than Nike? It seems the footwear giant has paid close attention to the recent glamorous streetwear craze — today, they released a pair of golden Swarovski-covered Air Max 97s to prove it.

The Nike WMNS Air Max 97 LX Swarovski takes the sneaker’s classic streamlined silhouette and, quite literally, spins it into gold. Nike’s special Crystal Fabric weaves 50 thousand (yes, 50 thousand) Swarovski gems into the shoes’ golden racing stripes, which is accented on the sides and tongues with a bright red logo swoosh. The trim that holds the laces is reflective, providing yet more shimmer to the already blinged-out kicks.

The release comes just over a year after Nike unveiled similar crystal-encrusted styles in silver and black. As HYPEBAE reports, the latest iteration became available for $400 on December 26, but is already sold out on sneaker hubs including SNS and Solebox.

Though you could always get your hands on a pair through a resale site like StockX, KicksOnFire has hinted that the shoes may become available through Nike’s site today. Keep an eye out if you have dreams of your shoe game emulating Rihanna’s iconic chainmail Swarovski gown.

Of course, this isn't the only recent crystal-coated release. Rihanna unveiled her own diamond-encrusted makeup brushes, Kylie Jenner sported a dazzling jumpsuit, and these water bottles would go perfect with your new crystal sneakers.
