Nike is planning to honor the man behind its skateboarding category with a sneaker that references one of the rarest SBs ever, the “Ebay” Dunk.

The Bodecker Foundation shared a teaser of the shoe on Instagram today, which pays tribute to the late Nike SB pioneer Sandy Bodecker, who passed away from cancer in 2018. The new shoe pictured above appears to don the color scheme of the original Ebay Dunk, with a white-based upper paired with vibrant patent leather accents inspired by the signature hues of Ebay’s logo. This upcoming pair features stripes on the sides and outsole referencing the original pair that was destroyed.

Only two pairs of the Ebay x Nike SB Dunk Low are known to exist. One was sold at a charity auction in August ‘03 for $30,000 and a second was cut into pieces. Bodecker later revealed that he had a pair, saying on Instagram that he was the one who bought the shoe from the auction.

Specific release info has yet to be unveiled for the upcoming SB Dunks, but the drop is expected to be tied to the 20th anniversary of Nike SB, suggesting that it should arrive between now and 2023.
