NILES ― The Niles Scream Park opened Sept. 9 for its 49th season with seven haunted attractions. Each attraction is rebuilt each year at the 44-acre complex at 855 Mayflower Road where the nonprofit project supports dozens of local charities.

This year’s lineup includes the always popular Niles Haunted House, Field of Screams and Dark Terror-tory Haunted Hayride, along with the Sinister Streets of Salem that’s set in 1692 with a witch-hanging judge in Salem, Mass., and The Evil Estate with a search for the paranormal. Hooded is back, where visitors are individually blindfolded and touched by actors as they pass through this intense attraction. And there are four Mini Escape Rooms, each for five minutes. The midway features food concessions, gift shop with Halloween paraphernalia and a new photo-op system.

Hours are 8 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Sept. 24, 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 30 to Oct. 29, and 7 to 10 p.m. Sundays in October. The “Black Out” event will be 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 4 and 5 where visitors use glow sticks to navigate attractions because the lights are out.

If ordered online, entry to individual attractions cost $16-$11, $22 for Sinister Streets and Evil Estate together and $5 per escape room. It's $5 extra if purchased at the park. Package deals are $31 for three attractions, $40 for five and $45 for six.
