PORTSMOUTH - The Writers on a New England Stage series will present award-winning NPR Correspondent Nina Totenberg talking about her highly anticipated new memoir, "Dinners with Ruth," on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

Her new memoir follows her personal successes, struggles, and life-affirming relationships, including her extraordinary friendship of nearly 50 years with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The 7 p.m. event will include an author presentation and on-stage interview with Hannah McCarthy, host of New Hampshire Public Radio’s Civics 101, an ongoing podcast that breaks down American democracy.

The event will take place at The Music Hall, 28 Chestnut St., Portsmouth.

Totenberg appears on NPR’s critically acclaimed news magazines All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition, and on NPR podcasts, including the NPR Politics Podcast and its series The Docket. Totenberg’s Supreme Court and legal coverage has won her every major journalism award in broadcasting. Recognized seven times by the American Bar Association for continued excellence in legal reporting, she has received more than two dozen honorary degrees. A frequent TV contributor, she writes for major newspapers, magazines, and law reviews.

Tickets are $15. For each ticket sold, the purchase of a book voucher (Dinners with Ruth, $28 hardcover) is required. Vouchers can be redeemed on the event night for copies of "Dinners with Ruth" with a signed bookplate.
