Nine graduate from DMACC-Tyson 1+2 Industrial Maintenance Program

The DMACC/Tyson 1+2 Industrial Maintenance Program 2022 graduation was recently held at the Hotel Pattee.

The ceremony included a welcome to graduates and family members by DMACC at Perry VanKirk Career Academy Site Director Eddie Diaz. Rudy Zagar expressed congratulations and appreciation on behalf of Tyson.

“Industrial maintenance programs are important for the plant to run effectively, your work will pay off in the future,” he said.

Representing the graduating students, Tino Martinez shared lessons learned on teamwork as well as skills and values gained from the training while expressing gratitude for the opportunities presented within the program. The event concluded with remarks by Diaz and the presentation of awards.

Under the oversight of DMACCs continuing education department, the training is led by DMACC Adjunct Instructors Jim VonBehren and Ryan Helleso. Students are paid a Tyson starting wage with a benefit/insurance package. During the first year, employees are enrolled in classes at the DMACC Perry VanKirk Center in the morning and work at the Tyson Perry Plant in the afternoons and on Sunday. During the second and third year, employees work full-time at the Tyson Plant.
