Nintendo blocks new accounts in Russia, limits services

"In early 2022, Nintendo suspended shipping products to Russia, and placed Nintendo eShop under maintenance following the suspension of transactions in Russian rubles by payment providers," the message reads.

Starting from May 31, the Russian version of Nintendo eShop will allow its customers to redownload digital content they have already bought. However, no new Nintendo accounts for Russian residents will be created.

"Payment information tied to Nintendo Accounts, such as credit card or PayPal account details, has been deleted for security reasons," they said.

Nintendo is a Japanese-based multinational video game and video game consoles producer with the headquarters in Kyoto, Japan. It has a wide chain of divisions both within Japan and abroad.
