NJ camp counselor charged with sexual contact with three children under 13

LEBANON TOWNSHIP – A Pennsylvania man who was a counselor has been charged with having sexual contact with three children under the age of 13 at Camp Bernie.

Joshua F. Daranijo, 24, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was charged Aug. 17 with three counts of second-degree sexual assault by contact and three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson.

An investigation found that Daranijo allegedly had sexual contact with three victims under the age of 13 while employed as a camp counselor at the YMCA camp in the Port Murray section of Lebanon Township.

Daranijo was being held in the Warren County Jail pending his first court appearance. Second-degree convictions carry a minimum five-year state prison sentence.
