Minor coastal flooding is expected Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon along the Jersey Shore and Raritan Bay, where this week's full moon will contribute to rising water levels during high tides, according to the National Weather Service.

The tug of Tuesday night's full moon will combine with ocean winds that are pushing water toward the coast, said Cameron Wunderlin, a meteorologist at the Mount Holly station of the National Weather Service. Portions of New Jersey along the Jersey Shore and Delaware Bay remain under a Coastal Flood Advisory.

Minor flooding is expected to affect low-lying roads and neighborhoods through Thursday, according to the weather service. Some spotty minor flooding is possible into Thursday evening in parts of Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties, according to meteorologists.

Travelers along the coast or in flood-prone areas should allow extra time for road closures and detours, according to the weather service.
