Late NJ Republican Councilwoman’s Family Still Seeking Answers In Her Death

It’s been a week since Eunice Dwumfour, a Republican city councilwoman from New Jersey, was found dead in her car, and her family is still waiting for an update from police.

As previously reported, Dwumfour was found in the vehicle outside of her home, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. At the time, they had not arrested anyone in connection to her death.

Unfortunately, that remains the case. Neither local police nor the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office has shared what’s going on with the investigation with the public, New York Post reports. All that’s known, thanks to a spokesperson, is that there are “currently still no updates to report” because “the matter is still under investigation.”

They haven’t shared updates with the Dwumfour family either.

“So far, we haven’t heard anything yet,” Dwumfour’s father, Prince Dwumfour, said.

The Sayreville Police Department took to social media to find more information about what happened to Dwumfour. They asked locals who had security camera footage of the councilwoman’s residence. They’re looking to review footage between 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Authorities are also looking for anyone who may have dashboard camera footage of three roads (Ernston Road, Gondek Drive or Point of Woods Drive) during that time range.

However, according to the New York Post, new surveillance video shown on News 12 New Jersey shows a person running from the scene of the alleged crime. The footage matches witnesses’ statements that the perpetrator dashed to Garden State Parkway after fatally shooting Dwumfour.

As police have continued to make investigate the incident, Dwumfour’s loved ones are remembering the councilwoman on social media.

“I know you breath through me I will continue to celebrate you as I have promised you I missed you my love,” Eze Kings, Dwumfour’s husband, wrote on Facebook.

A service to to remember Dwumfour will be held Wednesday night at Epic Church International in Sayreville, New Jersey.
