NJ students: Students participating in Alex's Lemonade Stand

Who doesn’t enjoy a nice cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day? Students at Big Blue Marble Academy Edison are participating in Alex’s Lemonade stand this summer by serving lemonade to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

Through their annual partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, students are participating in setting up lemonade stands, creating promotional materials, and making/selling lemonade to parents and others throughout the summer. Big Blue Marble Academy Heart projects, such as Alex’s Lemonade stand, are a valued part of the curriculum, teaching children through service learning by practicing compassion, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication. This project is designed to empower young children and engage them in hands-on learning as they develop important school readiness skills and build character development through helping others.

With a goal to raise $22,500 for childhood cancer research, Big Blue Marble Academy summer session students across the country will be fundraising through lemonade sales all summer long on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
