NJ Transit Northeast Corridor trains have limited service between NY, Metropark due to brush fires

NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor Line rail service has resumed with limited service between Penn Station New York and Metropark due to fire department activity near Edison.

Customers should listen carefully to announcements in New York. Customers should seek alternate transportation for stations between Metuchen and Trenton. Customers can also use North Jersey Coast Line service between New York and Rahway.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by Nj Transit buses, private carriers and PATH at Newark Penn Station and 33rd Street.

Northeast Corridor Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Trenton and Penn Station New York Wednesday afternoon due to multiple brush fires along the tracks through Middlesex to Monmouth County.

The fires, reported from Aberdeen through North Brunswick, were reportedly caused in the dry conditions by a freight train emitting sparks on the tracks.

Customers can use North Jersey Coast Line service between New York and Rahway.
