List of school closings, delays Friday in Monmouth and Ocean as snowstorm forecasted

Due to the inclement weather forecast for Thursday evening into Friday morning, several local schools and at least one college have altered schedules for the morning.

MONMOUTH COUNTY

Asbury Park

The district will follow a two-hour delayed opening schedule Friday.. Visit the district website and social media for updates.

Bradley Beach

The school will have a 90-minute delay and open at 10:10 a.m.

Brielle

The school will have a delayed opening. Students should arrive at 10:10 a.m.

Colts Neck

Township schools will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Fair Haven

Fair Haven Public Schools will be closed.

Freehold Borough

All Freehold Boro Elementary Schools will operate on a two-hour delayed opening Friday. Freehold Intermediate School will start at 10 a.m. Park Avenue Elementary will open at 10:35 a.m. Freehold Learning Center will open at 11:05 a.m. School officials will reevaluate the incoming storm around 6 a.m. Friday to determine if closure is needed.

Freehold Regional High Schools

The district will have a 90-minute delayed opening. School officials will continue to monitor conditions throughout the night. A final decision on school closure will be made by 5 a.m. Any changes will be posted to district website, be available through the automated calling system, posted on social media, and posted to the district mobile app.

Freehold Township Public Schools

Schools will be closed Friday.

Hazlet

The schools will operate on a delayed schedule. Any changes will be announced by 6 a.m. Friday.

Holmdel Township Schools

The township schools will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Howell Township Public Schools

The district will have a 90-minut delay. The PAL Before Care programs will be canceled. Any changes will be announced by 6 a.m.

Keansburg

Due to staff attendance issues, possible impending weather conditions and COVID-related absences and quarantines, the district will pivot to remote learning for Friday and Monday.

Schools are scheduled to reopen for in-person learning Tuesday.

Keyport

A determination to close will be made in the early morning hours Friday and will be communicated by School Messenger, social media and district website.

Long Branch Schools

The district will have a delayed opening Friday. Please follow your school's delayed schedule and be advised that schools may close if necessary.

Manasquan

The school district will have a two-hour delayed opening. Manasquan High School will open at 9:34 a.m. and Manasquan Elementary School will open at 10:30 a.m. Warrior Clubhouse Before School Care is cancelled.

Manalapan-Englishtown Regional

Due to the impending storm and current staff shortages, officials said too few personnel are available to ensure a safe opening. Therefore, school will be closed Friday.

Marlboro

The district will have a two-hour delayed opening. Lunches will be served. Students should be at bus stops two hours after the regular pick-up time. Champions Before and After School Program will not be open for the morning.

School officials say there remains a possibility of a full school closure.

Middletown

The district will follow the delayed opening schedule due to the forecast for inclement weather.

Millstone

The district will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Monmouth County Vocational

The vocational schools will be closed today, after initially calling for a delayed opening. The day will be made up on May 27.

Neptune City

The district will have a delayed opening. School will start at 10:20 a.m.

Neptune Township

There will be a two-hour delayed opening on Friday.

Red Bank Borough Schools

Due to COVID-19 infections among students and staff, the Red Bank Borough Public Schools will pivot to a full-remote schedule for Friday. Students will connect remotely via their district-provided device and follow a Minimum School Day schedule.

Red Bank Charter School

The school will be closed for snow.

Rumson

Due to inclement weather, the district will be closed on Friday. All afterschool activities are canceled.

Shore Regional High School

The high school will be closed due to inclement weather, after originally calling for a delayed opening.

Spring Lake Heights

The district's Twitter account stated: "Due to the impending forecast for tomorrow, January 7, 2022, SLH will operate on a delayed opening schedule. Students will arrive between 9:50 and 10 a.m. There will be no morning preschool program. Lunches will be served."

Trinity Hall

The school will be closed due to the predicted snow emergency.

Upper Freehold Regional

All three schools will have a two-hour delay.

Wall

The district will have a 90-minute delayed opening.

OCEAN COUNTY

Barnegat

The district will operate virtually on Friday due to staffing concerns.

Berkeley

All schools will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Brick

The district will be closed today do to inclement weather, after initially calling for a 90-minute delay. With no snow days built into the calendar, it will be added on later this year.

Lacey

Lacey Township schools will be closed on Friday due to inclement weather after initially calling for a delay opening.

Manchester

The district, including Regional Day, will have a 90-minute delayed opening. Childcare and preschool are cancelled. School officials will monitor the situation to determine if further action is needed.

Ocean County College

"Due to impending inclement weather conditions, the Ocean County College campus will be closed on Friday, January 7, 2022," the college posted on its website Thursday. "All in-person activities on Friday, January 7, 2022 are cancelled. With the exception of essential personnel, employees scheduled to work should work remotely."

Ocean County Library

Branches will open at noon due to weather.

Ocean County Vocational

The school district will have a 90-minute delayed opening.

Pinelands Regional

Due to rising COVID-19 cases and in consultation with the Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Education local office, the school district will operate virtually with an anticipated in-person return date of January 10. Students should log in virtually at the normal school start time.

Point Pleasant Beach schools

Schools will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Point Pleasant Borough schools

All district schools will have a two-hour delayed opening. If necessary, the decision to close schools will be made by 6:30 a.m. Friday. The decision will be posted to the district website and emailed to all parents and guardians. Students should report to school or their bus stop two hours later than the normally scheduled time. AM childcare will be offered at Nellie Bennett and Ocean Road Elementary Schools beginning at 9 a.m. As of Thursday night, PM childcare is not affected and will proceed as scheduled.

Stafford

The district will have a two-hour delayed opening.

Toms River Regional

All schools in the district will be closed Friday due to the inclement weather, after initially planning for a delayed opening.

Tuckerton

The elementary school will have a two-hour delayed opening, and reevaluate storm conditions on Friday morning.
