“Precision ranching technologies offers livestock producers and natural resource managers tools for enhanced livestock management and rangeland monitoring,” said Andrew Cox, CDRRC’s farm and ranch manager. “Participants will learn how the use of virtual fencing, remote water level monitoring sensors and rangeland pasture assessment with the use of satellite and drone imagery can increase operational efficiencies and improve grazing management and ecosystem health. This year we will also be highlighting the NMSU Dashboard for Precision Ranching. The dashboard, which was developed as part of the Sustainable Southwest Beef Coordinated Agriculture Project, gives livestock producers the ability to monitor in real time the location and activity of livestock, water trough levels and precipitation throughout their ranch.”

Individuals with a disability and in need of an auxiliary aid or service to participate should contact Luiza Cardone in advance at 575-646-3586 or lcardone@nmsu.edu.
