All clear: NMSU Police report shooting near Super 8 Motel

LAS CRUCES - New Mexico State University Police sent out a report to the area community around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday that there is police activity in the area of Valley and University involving a shooting at the Motel 9. Police later clarified that it was nearer to the Super 8 Motel at 245 La Posada Ln.

Police said two people were shot and were transported to an area hospital. No other information was immediately available.

At 1:54 p.m., NMSU Police sent out an all-clear notice, stating, "The investigation is on going. Look for updates from the Las Cruces Police Department. This is an all clear message and there is not an on going threat to the university campus."
