No. 19 LSU baseball looks to win the final game of its series at Alabama: Live score updates
No. 19 LSU baseball will face Alabama in Game 3 of its three-game series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Sunday (1:00 p.m. CT, SEC Network+).
After taking the first game of the series on Friday, 6-5, LSU struggled defensively and on the mound in Game 2 on Saturday, falling to Alabama 8-3.
LSU (31-15, 13-10) starting pitcher Blake Money could not record an out against the Crimson Tide (26-20, 10-12), surrendering two hits, two walks and two earned runs while only facing four batters. Freshman Grant Taylor also struggled in relief of Money, allowing five walks and three earned runs in three innings of work.
The Tigers' struggling pitching staff also had little help from a defense that committed three errors, from shortstop Jordan Thompson, right fielder Josh Pearson and Taylor, which resulted in two unearned runs.
With the exception of center fielder Dylan Crews' three-hit and two-home run day, LSU's offense was also quiet. The Tigers had just six hits, as Crews was the only member of the lineup to drive in any runs.
