Ohio State jumped up a spot to No. 2 in the latest Associated Press college women's basketball poll, matching the Buckeyes' highest-ever ranking.

OSU has spent the past three weeks in the No. 3 spot, but on Saturday, the Buckeyes dominated Nebraska 76-67, and the next day, Southern California pulled off a 55-46 upset win over the previously second-ranked Stanford Cardinal.

At 18-0, Ohio State is off to the best start in program history, surpassing its previous mark of 15-0 to begin the 2011-12 season. OSU, which also was ranked No. 2 in 2004-05 and 2005-06, has four wins over ranked opponents this year: Tennessee, Louisville, Oregon and Michigan. The Volunteers were ranked No. 5 at the time of Ohio State's 87-75 victory.

One of the biggest weeks of the Buckeyes' season is coming up with games against No. 10 Iowa and No. 6 Indiana looming next Monday and Thursday, respectively.

Between now and then, Ohio State plays Northwestern in a Thursday game at Value City Arena. Tipoff will be at 6:30 p.m.
