Quote from Syniehubov: "Today there were no attacks on Kharkiv. This is thanks to our heroic defenders, who drove away the Russian occupiers. However, the aggressor continues to shell the peaceful civilians of the [Kharkiv] Oblast.

The village of Pechenihy in Chuhuiv Raion [district] was hit today. A 73-year-old man sustained minor injuries."

Details: Syniehubov emphasised that hostilities are still underway in Kharkiv Oblast. The efforts of the Russian forces on the Kharkiv front are focused on defending the territories they had previously occupied.

Russian troops attempted to undertake active operations near the town of Dovhenke, in Izium Raion, but suffered losses and retreated.

Earlier: Ukrainian troops liberated several towns and villages in Kharkiv Oblast and pushed the Russian forces back to the Russian-Ukrainian state border.

On 14 May, Syniehubov said that although the Russian occupiers had not attacked the city of Kharkiv that day, it was "too early to relax."

On 15 May, Russian troops attacked Saltivka and the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, injuring 4 civilians.
