No Blue Christmas here; Elvis show set to rock the Mann Center

Nov. 19—Elvis is entering the building!

On Saturday, Nov. 26, Travis Powell, the closest thing to Elvis reincarnated you'll ever see or hear, will be performing at The Mann Center, Sanford for two shows only.

The first show is at 1 pm. and also at 7p.m.If there ever was a truer Elvis it's Travis. No one else compares to the sound, the vibe, nor the movements that Powell does so naturally.

Powell has performed all across the country, from Branson Missouri, to OWA, on the gulf shores of Alabama, and six nights a week at Legends in Myrtle Beach, he brings the sound and feel of Elvis to the building.

"I've been doing this professionally for about 12 years." Travis Powell said in a phone interview, "but I've been singing Elvis songs since I was 4 years old."

A North Carolina native, Powell has a fondness for Sanford. "It's great to be coming back," he said in a phone interview. "I'm really looking forward to getting back to Sanford — it's kinda where it all began for me, professionally. I can't wait."

Carolina the band will be opening for Travis, a.k.a. Elvis, for both shows.

Also, mark your calendar for Dec. 8, as Tayla Lyyn, Loretta Lynn's granddaughter, and Tre Twitty, Conway Twitty's grandson will be performing together at the Mann Center.
