No Freeport-area home sold in August surpasses the $300K mark

The housing market continues to stay hot, including in the month of August.

Here are the 10 most expensive homes sold in Stephenson County.

10. 2210 Wheatland Terrace, Freeport

This four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home has an island prep bar, glass sliding doors to a deck, main floor family room with fireplace plus an egress lower-level recreation room with an additional office/bedroom. The home featured several updates in 2022, including a hot water heater and water softener.

The home sold on Aug. 31 for $200,000. The property was listed by Margaret A. Christensen, Christensen Home Town Realtors.

9. 6934 N. Red Oak Road, Freeport

This three-bedroom home sits on more than two acres. The property includes an outbuilding, shed and two-stall detached garage. The whole house runs on a generator and features an updated kitchen and bathroom. The home also has space for one to two more bedrooms.

The home sold for $205,000 on Aug. 22. The property was listed by Kimberly Taylor, NextHome First Class.

8. 456 Marstonmoor Road, Lake Summerset

This cedar home is bigger on the inside than it looks. The house has vaulted ceilings, and the main floor offers two bedrooms, a remodeled full bathroom, galley kitchen, open living room and dining area. The upper level has an office/loft area with a half bathroom and master bedroom. The home has tandem parking for two cars. There is also a wraparound deck with pergola.

The home, listed by Heather Collins-Armenta, Keller Williams Signature Realty, sold for $205,000 on Aug. 7.

7. 1062 Burke Drive, Freeport

This 1,600-square-foot ranch home has an oversized garage and an additional parking pad. The vaulted living room with gas log fireplace opens to a kid's playroom. Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom has double closets and a master bathroom. The lower level is roughed in for a third full bathroom and is partially finished with recreation room, exercise room, mechanicals and storage.

This was the seventh most expensive home sold in August at $210,000. The property was listed by Aubra Palermo, Re/Max Property Source.

6. 73 Delburne, Lake Summerset

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has lake views. The master bedroom leads to a deck. The exposed lower level has a two-car garage, a full bath and a family room. The kitchen, carpeting and bathroom cabinets were updated earlier this year. Lake Summerset amenities include access to the pool and splash pad, two beaches, two marinas and fishing.

This home sold for $220,000 on Aug. 4. The property was listed by Scott Wilke and Brooke Wilke, Best Realty.

5. 435 Sunnyside Drive, Cedarville

This ranch style home has a walk out/exposed lower level. The main floor has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an open living and dining area leading to tiered decks, a pool and the yard. The basement is fully finished with a family room and bar, an office or fourth bedroom, a third full bathroom and storage areas.

The property was listed by Kimberly Taylor, NextHome First Class and sold for $232,000 on Aug. 30.

4. 1015 Appaloosa Drive, Freeport

This three-bedroom, three-bathroom home built in 1995 has nearly 3,300 square feet of living space. The home has laundry on the main floor, a four-seasons room and a full walk-out basement with an office that could be turned into a fourth bedroom. The corner lot property also has a garage with shed.

The home sold for $235,00 on Aug. 11. The property was listed by Kimberly Taylor, NextHome First Class.

3. 1517 Woodside Drive, Freeport

This home is on 1.44 acres in a private and wooded area down the street from Krape Park. The kitchen has a center island with the dining room located adjacent to it. Off the dining area are French doors leading to a private deck. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, vaulted ceilings, wet bar and a beam with natural woodwork. The primary suite has two closets, a private bathroom with double vanities and a jetted tub. The lower level has a finished area with a wet bar, wood burning fireplace and built-in bookcases.

The home sold on Aug. 22 for $270,000. The property was listed by Milena Cojkic, Keller Williams Realty Signature.

2. 1818 US Hwy 20 E, Freeport

This low maintenance ranch home has a partially updated open floor plan and offers 2,200 square feet of living space. The house sits on 23 acres in a flood plain with frontage on Pecatonica River. The kitchen has an island and opens to the family room with a wood burner. The designated bedroom with French doors leads to a 3-season and roughed in master bath, walk-in closet.

The home sold for $280,000 on Aug. 16. The property was listed by Ginny K. Meyer, Gambino Realtors.

1. 3030 W. Greenfield Drive, Freeport

This four-bedroom home has a family room and sitting area with a brick fireplace. The updated kitchen with casual dining flows back to the formal dining room. The primary bedroom can be accessed from the hall or the family room and has an updated full bathroom with a walk-in shower. The other end of the home has an office space, main floor laundry and half bathroom.

This was the most expensive home sold in Stephenson County in August at $287,000. The property was listed by Aubra Palermo and Elizabeth Dreesman, Re/Max Property Source.
