JONESVILLE — Jonesville Fire Chief Dean Adair reported no injuries when a small fire broke out late Monday night at Jonesville's Martinrea plant on Gage Street.

The factory was evacuated around 6 p.m. Jan. 9 when an employee manually pulled a fire alarm prompting the Jonesville Fire Department's response with mutual aid from the city of Hillsdale.

Adair said a fire broke out in what he described as a ventilation box under a plasma cutting table which is used to quality check welds in the plant.

Firefighters ventilated the building with assistance from staff and made quick work of the fire, calling it under control within 20 minutes, Adair said.
