Jun. 4—LIVERMORE FALLS — There will be no July 3 parade for the second year in a row.
"We're not doing it this year," Erica Tripp said. "We didn't do any fundraising due to COVID and the expectancy of COVID during this time. We couldn't predict when all the restrictions would be lifted and simply do not have the time now or the funds to put the parade on as we have in the past."
She and other organizers are hoping the parade will be held next year.
"So here's to hoping next year we can return to normal," she said.
"The fireworks will be held and it is expected to be a show-and-a-half because money raised last year was not used," Town Manager Amanda Allen said Tuesday.
The fireworks are usually launched from the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope area over the Androscoggin River.
Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls raise money for the display.
