JEROMESVILLE, Ohio (WJW) – A rural school district in Ashland County has announced it is out of calamity days and will utilize remote learning for any further school cancellations this year.

According to a recent letter posted on the Hillsdale Local Schools website, the district exhausted the state’s allowance of five calamity days during the week of Jan.15, 2024. At that time, a brutal cold snap gripped Northeast Ohio and temperatures dropped into the single digits with wind chills below zero.

This commitment reflects the district’s dedication to the continuous pursuit of knowledge.”
