No reported injuries after Longmont Dairy Farms truck overturned in crash Sunday

Dec. 12—No injuries were reported in a Sunday crash that overturned a Longmont Dairy Farms truck carrying approximately 100 gallons of dairy product.

The dairy truck was hit in the 800 block of Main Street by a Subaru Outback.

According to Longmont Public Safety spokesperson Robin Ericson, neither of the drivers was transported to a hospital. The truck, however, sustained damage to the windshield and its right side. Ericson said dairy product in the truck was broken or spilled.

Police who were patrolling in the area arrived on the scene at 10:12 p.m. Sunday. Officers obtained video footage from the intersection of 9th Avenue and Main Street, which showed the truck driving south on Main Street, and before entering the intersection at a green light. The Subaru driver then entered the intersection and struck the back, right side of the truck.

The Subaru came to a stop in the north, right-turn lane, according to Ericson. The Subaru's driver was issued a summons for careless driving and disregard of a traffic control device.
