No Sesso’s vibrant knits are the epitome of 2021 fashion

In The Know is proud to celebrate Pride Month. During this month, our team will highlight a wide range of LGBTQIA+ owned brands. We encourage you to support today and always.

After wearing only loungewear for a year, emerging back into the world has hit many with one question: What is fashion even like in 2021? The answer: No Sesso.

Described as a “community-powered brand that focuses on empowering people of all colors, shapes and identities,” No Sesso was launched in 2015 by Pierre Davis. According to the No Sesso site, Davis now runs the queer-owned brand with business partners Autumn Randolph and Arin Hayes. And the brand has long been making moves: During New York Fashion Week 2019, Davis became the first Black trans woman designer to show on the CFDA’s official calendar.

“No sesso” is Italian for “no sex” or “no gender.” And the philosophy is apparent in the site’s approach to design. No Sesso designs feature a wide array of colorful prints and fabrics — and none of the designs adhere to traditional ideas of binary gender, making the collection inherently queer.

The brand’s pieces are incredibly modern, like the pieces you see TikTok “It” girls wearing but can never find for yourself. Check out some of the site’s killer designs below.
