STAUNTON — See the snow currently on the ground? It's probably there to stay for a little while, but don't worry, there won't be much added to it — if anything.

Some parts of Virginia will be seeing snow, luckily (or not so lucky if you really love snow) we won't be seeing any, according to the National Weather Service.

There's a winter weather advisory for portions of east central, eastern, north central and south central Virginia that could bring wet snow of up to one to two inches with low temperatures.

The Shenandoah Valley will be seeing cold temperatures.

There is a slight chance of snow and rain Thursday morning into the early afternoon. There's a high of 39 Thursday, with a low of 12.

Friday night is when it will get really cold — 5 degrees, according to the NWS.

Jeremy Geiger, meteorologist for the NWS said there's a cold air mass that originated from the Arctic area that's moving down and will settle over us this weekend.

The cold temperatures without precipitation isn't abnormal, Geiger said.
