‘No survivors’ in jet crash carrying north Georgia air group employees off California coast
A Cartersville-based air group confirmed three of its employees died in a plane crash off the California coast.
Phoenix Air said two of its Learjets were participating in a U.S. Navy Training exercise when one of them crash. The second jet landed safely.

The Learjet landed in the waters a mile from San Clemente Island and the Navy, U.S. Coast and other officials launched a search. On Thursday, the Coast Guard determined there were no survivors.
Phoenix Air said three employees were on board the plane that crashed: Captain Eric Tatman from Marietta, 1st Officer Spencer Geerlings from Newnan and Systems Specialist Shane Garner from Taylorsville.

“The entire Phoenix Air Family grieves over this loss of our friends and fellow employees,” the company said. “The entire Phoenix Air Family is supporting our fallen colleagues’ families.”
Coast Guard officials are working to recover the victims’ bodies.
The Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board and Department of Defense are handling the investigation. No other details have been released.
