DENNIS - There will be no vote recount in the race for Dennis water district commissioner, Town Clerk Theresa Bunce says.

Dennis voters took to the polls on May 10, deciding on 10 town positions and a non-binding advisory question about the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. The only contested race this year, however, was water district commissioner.

The candidates were Paul McCormick Jr., current chair of the Planning Board; Robert Michael Perry, director of Cape Cod Engineering Inc. and Kent Morgan Sargent.

According to final results, Perry won the race with 924 votes. McCormick garnered 907, and Sargent 134. The day after the election, Bunce had suggested a recount could be in order because of closeness of the vote tallies in the race.

Dennis' water district commissioner aids the Dennis Water District in its duties of supplying, overseeing and regulating water to the town.
