Just like a chameleon is color-changing, the new Chameleon waterslide at Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells is color-changing, too.

The Flying Gecko, one of more than 51 attractions at the water park, is being transformed into the Chameleon, a "family-friendly" and "fully immersive" waterslide featuring color-changing lights and music, according to a news release.

“As America’s Largest Waterpark, we are always looking for innovative ways to grow our attraction lineup to offer even more unique experiences to our guests,” Christopher Mortensen, the waterpark's general manager, said in the news release. “We know that the addition of the new Chameleon will deliver an unbeatable ride that guests won’t be able to find anywhere else in the area.”

What's the Chameleon waterslide experience going to be like for riders?

The Chameleon's riders will race past 74 color-changing lights and eight speakers, a news release said. They'll find "a new surprise" around every twist while listening to a mashup of songs created exclusively for the water park.

How does the Chameleon's technology work?

The Chameleon will be fitted with iSlide technology for the color-changing lights and music, according to the news release.

What will the Chameleon look like?

The Chameleon's outer shell will be painted to "represent the changing colors of a chameleon," the news release said. The waterslide will be 520 feet long, according to the website.

How many people can ride the Chameleon waterslide together?

Up to four people can ride the Chameleon together.

The minimum weight per tube is 250 pounds, and the maximum weight per tube is 800 pounds, the website said.

Children must be at least 1 year old to ride the Chameleon, the website said. The "smallest" park guests must ride with a supervising companion, per the news release.

The park is offering a limited-time offer of $40 off Silver and Gold season passes for Wisconsin residents, the news release noted.

On opening day, the water park will open its gates one hour early, at 9 a.m., for a season passholder party. The party will include early ride time, a DJ, giveaways and more.
