Noble County Summer Pull brings crowds, fun and exhaust to fairgrounds.

CALDWELL − The Southeastern Ohio Pulling Series (SEOPS) recently brought trucks, tractors and semis to the Noble County Fairgrounds for the 2023 Summer Pull.

The SEOPS is a new and local series, based in Senecaville. The group travels across much of southeastern Ohio, covering sanctioned events and bringing pulling to county fairs and similar events.

Drivers from all across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia were in attendance to try for a full pull at the event. Ten classes competed, with the top five in each class receiving payouts ranging from $350 for first place to $75 for fifth.

In the Run What Ya Brung (RWYB) class, Brad Berghoff of Valley Grove, West Virginia, won with a 314.8-foot pull. Robbie Patton, of Walton, West Virginia, took first in the Workstock Diesel class, with a 326.8-foot pull. The Pro-Stock Gas Truck class had Doug Berghoff, of West Alexander, Pennsylvania, winning with a 354.1-foot pull.

The Modified Stock 4x4 Gas Truck class was won by Shayne Garner of Washington, West Virginia, with a 329-foot pull. Nick Thieman of Marietta won the 9500 Hot Farm Tractor class with a pull of 344.4 feet. The 10,000 Open Turbo Tractor class saw Brady Kutscherenko from McConnellsville win it with a 333.5-foot pull.

Winning the 3.6/4.1 Semi class was Uniontown, Pennsylvania resident Dale Malinzak with a pull of 365.5 feet. The Street Semi class winner was Ed Zeglen, out of Quaker City with a 298.2-foot pull. Taking home the top spot in the Cheater Stock Gas Trucks class was J. C. Smith of Caldwell, with a pull of 330.9 feet, and Cory Frank of Burbank, Ohio won the 2.6 Smooth Bore Diesel class with his pull of 318.4 feet.
